On August 20, the actor who played King Richard shared a humorous Instagram video of a baby gorilla poking an adult gorilla with the remark, "me trying to get back on social."

For the first time since the now-famous slap he gave Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars ceremony in March, the 53-year-old has added content to his website that isn't about that incident.

Smith entered the stage during the 94th Academy Awards live broadcast and struck presenter Rock for a joke he had made about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The actor wrote a letter of apology and shared it on his Instagram after the incident. He addressed the issue again in an Instagram video in July, four months later.
